Temple Quay Market

To bring a cohesive brand to the monthly food market in the Temple Quay area, I was commissioned to develop a bespoke illustration that encapsulated many elements of the market in one image, as well as a logo that reflected the already existing Temple Quay brand.

The choice of colours for the logo and illustration were drawn from the colours of the umbrellas used in the market. Using the 'Q' from ‘Quay’, I drew the various elements to fit that letter shape, along with descriptive words, that together illustrated the ethos and food items offered by the market. The 'Q' shape also mirrors the shape of the area within which the market is held.

Part of the promotional package required a flyer, the reverse of which needed to include a map. As the market is aimed primarily at surrounding businesses within 10 minutes walk, it was important that the map was simplified down to key roads and landmarks to emphasis how local and easy it was to get to and access the market.

The flyer was printed on thick, matt stock to enable notes to be written on it and to further emphasis the tactile, earthy and organic nature of the market. Posters were printed onto durable, hard-wearing canvas, with eyelets, for year-round placement.
